Münster offers many facets. Besides history, old town and the Treaty of Westphalia the unique cultural and art scene has become well-known across its borders. The old town not only offers many historical, pre-war buildings and sights but also many contemporary architectural highlights, sculptures, art museums, events and shopping facilities. In the area around the "Kreativkai" by the harbour, you find the Wolfgang Borchert Theatre, a jazz club and a variety of restaurants and clubs.

All cultural sights can also easily be reached by bicycle, for instance on a traditional "Pättkesfahrt" (a bicycle tour off the beaten track) which passes all art works in the city and many castles and palaces in the surrounding.
